I have a 1 hour rule, its an amazing way to keep an off with the fairies, easily excitable oooh whats that shiny thing star sign picses, entrepreneur accountable to tasks at hand and enable me to get on with the real stuff- living my life!!! :-) Heres how it goes: My day, my week, whatever time span you choose, is broken down into 1 hour slots! I write a list of the things I want to feel each day- Purposeful, accomplished, happy, energetic, peaceful, strong, connected. etc. Always start with a feeling! (Thankyou Mojo Master) Its the only thing we actually have... The rest is an illusion anyway! Then comes the activity I will do to achieve said feeling. Purposeful- Creating (work) Podcast material, writing, newsletter, answering emails, feedback on food diaries for clients etc. I would first write a list of all the purposeful things to do, then set a timer- 1 hour! Energetic/strong- Workout! 1 hour Peaceful/happy- could be yoga, meditation, lunch with friends, quiet book and coffee on the couch- 1 hour Connected- Turning off devices, after school pickup- taking time to talk to my kids, help with homework, talk about whats for dinner, weekend plans, who said what at school that day- 1 hour Accomplished- end of day/night ritual- dishes, tidy, all done with candles on, quiet, shower, relax, go to bed happy! - 1 hour There are many more hours in the day to fill... With work, with life etc, but if I can PURPOSEFULLY take these hours as my own, to create a feeling, my whole day changes! Most of these things are things that get done anyways... whether I like them or not, it is simply a choice to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, and the have tos into a purposeful feeling maker for 1 hour a day!
