I have a Christmas story Id like to share. Years ago, on a farm in Tipton Co. Indiana, there was this LARGE family. A father and a mother and eight children. Christmas time quickly coming and for this mother and father little or no hope for an appearance of Santa Claus. So...momma began to drop little hints that Santa wasnt coming, and reminded them of the true meaning of Christmas, hoping that it would soften the thought of no presents. Then this mother and father got this idea...There is still Montgomery Wards catalog. Well order Christmas. So they did..A tree, but what about a Christmas Tree. There just happened to be a large pine tree in the back yard. This FATHER, climbed that tall tree and cut the top off. Walla..a Christmas Tree. No bulbs for that tree. Momma rescued flash bulbs left from taking pictures with that old Polaroid Flash Camera. A little glue, cotton balls, and red fingernail polish, topped with left over red paper ribbon. BULBS.... Now lights,,,oh yes those old bubble lights they used every year. FOOD???Never worried, chickens in the yard, veggies in the jars they canned, and minced meat pies, and dont forget those home made bisquits. CHRISTMAS. ...Food,Tree, Gifts, Lights,Bulbs. And FAMILY. My family. All them Terhunes. Best Christmas ever. Merry Christmas Everyone. For unto is born this day in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord.
