I have a Current Vent file, into which my mewling, puling gripes - TopicsExpress

I have a Current Vent file, into which my mewling, puling gripes usually go without seeing the light of day. This rant slipped past the good news gatekeeper. Its inspired by an 1989 song called Monkey Gone to Heaven, by The Pixies. the creature in the sky got sucked in a hole now theres a hole in the sky and the grounds not cold and if the grounds not cold everything is gonna burn well all take turns ill get mine, too this monkeys gone to heaven How come Black Francis had more sensible things to sing about pollution, ozone depletion and climate change a quarter century ago than any politician has had to say since? Im also having a hard time understanding our environmentalists... Al Gore is eating like a vegan, but he wont mention veganism to his thousands of Inconvenient Truth lecturer trainees because its too unpopular, and Bill McKibben, co-founder of 350.org and author of The End of Nature (the first popular press book on climate change, published in 1989, the same year as this Pixies song), likes his liverwurst sandwiches too much to stop eating animals. Nowt as queer as folk. Yet animal exploitation may account for more than half of all greenhouse gases, in terms of CO2 equivalents. And our relentless domination of nature, rather than a gentle dominion over it, instigated by our species conversion of other animals from opportunistic emergency rations to wanton everyday fare, may account for much of the rest. What chance do we have if our most prominent thought leaders wont follow the science to its logical conclusion? Its the animals, people... Its the animals. Vent over... Now please enjoy the song... its a cracker. rock me joe! if man is 5, if man is 5, if man is 5 then the devil is 6, then the devil is 6, then the devil is 6, and if the devil is 6, then god is 7, then god is 7, then god is 7... this monkeys gone to heaven [No, I dont know either. Im ok with that.] https://youtube/watch?v=mK3iSglbZUM
