I have a bit of a controversial question to ask everyone, and Im fully prepared for backlash. I recently asked about everyones thoughts on LGBT fiction and reaction was fairly good. After that I read a few stories of that nature and found that I quite enjoy the genre (though in fairness Ive only read F/F stories - non-erotica) and came up with an idea of my own. Which brings me to my question... Is it, in your opinion, acceptable for a straight male to write F/F fiction? Not erotica, but a serious story about two women? Ive seen straight women write two men and two women, but Ive scarcely seen male writers do such a thing. If I, or even other straight male authors, wrote a F/F romance would you not care or would you think it not acceptable? Would you accuse the author of being a pervert or weirdo? Id love your honest thoughts on this topic.
