I have a confession. I wrote earlier this week, this is not what Tommy & I had envisioned when we left this year. We actually saw us involved in fair ministry or out west somewhere. Maybe even on an Indian reservatio, but no, here we are in Ohio, at a Christian Camp. We arrived mowed grass, cleaned cabins, tommy repaired plumbing and broken equipment. Not much interaction with the groups who were here. Becky our awesome cousin reminded me, that the body has many working parts all who interact one way or another, and that sometimes, we are just an elbow. she is right we thought elbows do accomplish a lot. Tommy is still mainly repairs, helping out where he is needed, but he gets the occasional privilege of being with the children. I am mainly in the kitchen prepping and then serving meals. When you are serving 180 at one sitting then another 80 at the next serving there is little time to have a conversation. However, i do get the opportunity to smile and encourage them in brief moments. This morning tommy had to go back to our camper to get something, on the door was a note from one of the youth who is a counselor . Talk about a God moment, he wrote how inspired he was by our smiles and encouragement, he went on to write how we have been an inspiration to him. I do not write this out of pride. But to share with you, sometimes the tiniest thing you do a simple smile pat on the back, or a kind word may seem menial to you but it can mean the world to someone else. I am so happy Tommy and I listened and heard God calling us to this amazing camp where we are truly blessed beyond our wildest dreams.
