I have a deep-seated, long-standing fear of deep water (reaccuring nightmare of swimming and being able to see straight down to the bottom-bottom of the Mariana Trench - no monsters or kraken or evil-eyed merpeeps - just the vast amount of water, crushing depths, chilling salty inky currents, icy-black caves....) and now there are massive waves under the underneath. The article itself is a little dry (see what I did there?) but really emphasizes how little we know of our own planet. From the Antarctica to Samoa these underwater waves zoom about and we are all just popping about on the surface, having faith that it all continues to work.
