I have a dramatic announcement to make. I hate Prezi. It is a stupid program. Lots of eye candy, poor functionality. Too many steps to accomplish tiny things. I cannot believe Im about to say this about a Microsoft program, but I prefer Power Point. I wrote a script for this project in about an hour and a half yesterday. Yes. It includes gun play (well, off the screen anyway). The hardest part of it was converting everything to French (only know present tense) and making sure I was (largely) sticking to the vocabulary weve already studied. Upon the very wise suggestion of my oldest son, I created a thirteen slide power point in two hours last night. The most time consuming part of it was finding the right pictures and getting everything edited and centered. Today I converted the slides to jpgs. Had I been allowed to turn in a Power Point, all Id have to be doing right now is recording the required audio files and applying them to Power Point. I could have turned the whole thing in tomorrow. Ive been working with Prezi all afternoon. As Id converted the slides to jpgs (Jeremiahs suggestion). I already had the pictures and the script. I am still not done. Part of our assignment (not quite sure why--I think its busy work) is to write a short essay comparing Prezi to other presentation software. I dont think waste of time and energy will get an A, but whatever I say is going to sound a lot like that.
