I have a favorite breakfast spot when Im downtown in LA called the original Pantry. Its some 40 yr old diner thats never closed a day , even holidays. It is one of those old school inexpensive huge plate places that has a line out the door. Not only have the waiters all been there 25 plus years but it has a following, a lot of older truck drivers and retired older folk go and sit at the counter. A lot are on fixed or limited incomes, and some arent. Everytime I go there I pick a few old timers at the counter and tell my waiter Im anonomously buying their breakfasts (its inexpensive and easy to do there) , I tell them to say, someone wanted to brighten your day and buy you breakfast just because. I tell them if they argue just to tell them to pay it forward to someone sometime. Its so fun and inspiring watching them and their faces, and how they look around for a camara or think, why me? The best part is doing it and not having to get credit, I do it to let People know theres still some strangers out there willing to give and not get a thank you ! It warms my heart. I now have my brother doing it, weve been at it for ten years now. :)
