I have a feisty three-year old lady in my house. True to the perceptive observations of Max, a dear comrade of mine, she throws her weight around. Shes the best three-year old that I could ever have... and I thank God for that. When I set the table for her meals, I place some mat on which her plate sits. When she has finished her meal, two sides of her character surface... If the lady who helps us around the house tries to collect the plate mat, all hell breaks loose. She has since learned to let her mat be. When I collect the plate mat, heaven comes down and glory fills her soul! #SMH... I then realised that her dubious reaction is a typical lesson in the dynamics of relationships. As her father, I possess clout that allows me to invade her space without her feeling slighted. She knows that I love her and in her reciprocating my love, she has no problem with my collecting the plate mat. She quickly adapts to my command. Since the lady who helps around our house is not family, she has a steep acquaintance gradient to climb as she possesses none of my clout. My daughter rants and raves when she tries to collect the mat, until she gives up. ...... He who claims he relates with God cordially should have absolutely NO qualms with everything and anyone that God commands. 1 John 5:3. If God is like a distant lady who helps around the house, then we will rebel at the very mention of the command to pause every seventh day and rest. Its a matter of the extent of our relationship with God... SEVEN!!!
