I have a funny story to share with you... worth reading. So this was my weekend: I think it was saturday when Courtney and I decided that we wanted to make cookies. Somewhere in the conversation, we decided on snicker doodles because Courtney has two salt and pepper shakers from her grandma for the purpose of cinnamon toast. We made the dough, all went well, we were having fun. I unscrewed the lids of the shakers and poured a bit into a bowl to roll the balls of dough in. The cinnamon shaker looked a little light colored to me, but a shrugged it off, not thinking much of it. When the first batch came out of the oven, I was really craving cookies, so Courtney and I were quick to try one. But one bite and something seemed off.... the cookies were salty. We both made the most grotesque faces. Then we laughed. Her grandma put both cinnamon and sugar into one shaker and left the salt in the other. In other words... a very easy mistake for us to make. Jacob was supposed to come back to our apartment shortly, so we thought up a very wonderful idea. Neither of us wanted to eat salty cookies, nor did we just want to throw them out. So... we decided to give them to Jacob to take back to his own apartment to share with his roommates. when Jacob came in, we handed off the plateful of cookies to him and asked him to share them with his apartment. He smiled and said he just might eat them all himself. Courtney and I laughed and told him he really shouldt do that, he needed to share them. This made him curious about why we were so adamant about sharing them - so he tried one. The face he made only caused us to laugh more. After taking a bite of the salty cookie, he was very quick to carry out our unintentional prank. Later, I was told that the guys all tried one, excited about eating cookies. But once theyd tried them, they didnt throw them away because they were afraid that someones mom made them. They didnt want to offend that poor mom who made the awful cookies. And since they didnt throw the cookies away, even more unsuspecting victims fell pray to the salty snicker doodles. Poor boys... thank you for the entertainment. I hope this doesnt damage my reputation as a cook. I promise that if I offer you a cookie in the future, they wont be salty.
