I have a half-rant, half-question. My husbands grandmother got my son a potty for Christmas. When he opened it, he sat on it (with all his clothes still on like it was a little chair) and she said that now I have no excuse to be lazy and not potty train him. Hes 19 months old and hasnt shown any of the signs that hes ready to start potty training yet. I refuse to push him before hes ready because that will just make it more difficult in the long run, but she wont leave me alone about it. He just opened it last night and shes already asked me about twelve times today if hes used it yet and then snaps at me and tells me to stop being such a bad mother and make him use it when I tell her he hasnt. We keep it in plain sight and hes sat on it like a chair a few times, but he doesnt take his clothes off or anything and were staying at my husbands aunt and uncles house so I dont want to let him run around naked and risk him having an accident on their carpet. Im not sure how to handle this. The woman is 79 years old and in bad health so I dont want to lose my shit on her (although I have come dangerously close several times in the last couple days). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ease him into using the potty or getting her to back off? -JL
