This week they gave the Grade 9 pupils a 45 marks assignment (due date tomorrow) to choose one tribe between Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa and Afrikaner, then write 200 words on it. The children will get 15 marks for the origin of the tribe, its leaders and language; 10 for the culture and beliefs; another 10 marks for the location of this tribe, 3 for the appearance of the assignment, 5 for index and two for reference! So far the black kids have been shining and speaking with so much pride and clarity about Malandela, Moshoeshoe and Shaka, saying they intend an authoritative command of the topic.
