I have a heavy heart tonight after hearing news that a former student of mine lost his life way too soon. He always bounced into my room with a huge smile, made me laugh almost daily and was a friend to everyone. I am praying for his family and the many friends he leaves behind at both of our high schools, including my son. I pray that something good will come out of such a sad tragedy. If you have middle school to college aged kids, please explain to them that when things seem hopeless, it is just temporary. Our kids have to know reaching out for help is a must. They are never alone. I am preparing myself to share this with all of my students tomorrow. I have tragically lost 4 former students in my 22 years of teaching. I hope to never lose another. Please join me in praying for our community of young people. May God work this tragedy in a way that impacts many people in a positive manner. Remembering Logan tonight. RIP.
