I have a lot of feelings on the apparent separation between Miami - TopicsExpress

I have a lot of feelings on the apparent separation between Miami University main campus and the branch campuses. There has always been a stigma against branch campus students, and I feel that this is main campus taking the stigma public. We are a public ivy! What? No-- dont look over there at the branch campuses. No. Ew! The branch campus officials can paint it up and down with pretty words saying that it is to offer more four year degrees, to increase revenue, whatever. I dont think anyone is buying that. Middletown, Hamilton, and VoA students arent as en vogue as the main campus students. I dont think the branch campus officials should feel ashamed of non traditional students; students who are risking a lot, sacrificing time with their children and families, and taking a chance on trying to better their futures. Why is that so ugly to the main campus? I take this stigma very personally because some degrees, like a bachelors degree in nursing, are not even offered at the main campus. I went to school for five years with men and women who went long periods of time not sleeping, eating, or seeing their families to get this degree... and youre going to try to pawn the branches off like they are a lesser than school? I think its disgusting. Branch campus students work too hard to be treated like they are second class students. I graduated from Miami University, nothing more or less.
