I have a neighbor down the hall that I am going to be like when I am older...a very smart and articulate senior black man. He lives in an apartment that is easy to maintain with all utilities paid. He owns multiple homes that he rents out at reasonable rates to family members and friends....no strangers. He is drawing his monthly social security payments. He also regularly hauls scrap metal in his truck that he sells to salvage yards. He donates his time at Harvesters to deliver food for needy people. At first glance, an ignorant and materialistic person would assume he is a bum. I know better. That man has real money. The stunters are the real bums. They sell things they need to buy what they want. They live in a house that is worth double or triple what their yearly income is. They have expensive rims on their cars but their gas tank stays closer to E than it does to F most of the time. They think a 9 to 5 job is a hustle. They never invest their money in financial markets. Saving is obsolete or impossible to them.They have no clue what hedging your worth and passive income are. I see them on Facebook everyday and in public. I smirk at them when they turn their noses up at me when I am at the bus stop with my laptop. Never judge a book by its cover....they will learn one day.
