I have a number of legislators tell me they agree with my message regarding Article 1 § 26, they just do not like the messenger. I retort that if they did the correct thing, if they honored their oath to solemnly swear (or affirm) that as a member of this General Assembly, I will, in all appointments, vote without favor, affection, partiality, or prejudice; and that I will not propose or assent to any bill, vote or resolution, which shall appear to me injurious to the people, or consent to any act or thing, whatever, that shall have a tendency to lessen or abridge their rights and privileges, as declared by the Constitution of this State. as each MUST state before being seated, then I will simply be relegated to the ash heap of advocates. Give it a try folks.
