I have a plea to all Louisiana Roman Catholics who believe there is a distinction between the traditional Catholic education system and public education. Please read this article in the Advocate and see if establishing a new pseudo-Catholic school dependent on taxpayer support is as offensive to you as it is to me, a Protestant. For the record, I briefly had all my children enrolled in a fine parochial school. But that schools business/mission model wasnt dependent on public funding. If you agree with me, please contact Dr. Verges and Bishop Muench and express any misgivings you have about this model that corrupts both Catholic education and public education.
