I have a possibly brilliant new theory for which I seek more data - perhaps from you. In childhood our family lived in a portion of Boston (West Roxbury) where the streets were named for songbirds. Wren Street, Oriole Street, etc. And my (much) older brother became a PhD naturalist and is to this day an authority on birds. I muse as to whether, had we lived in near Death Valley if he would have been an undertaker or mortician. During my formative years we had moved to Eastwood Circuit. Could this be why I became interested philosophy, where one goes round and round, getting nowhere, whether east or west. I wonder if this hypothesis has legs....
