I have a question... Accompanied by a heavy heart. Yesterday, Hercules got spooked and flew across the room. My two cats ran over and almost attacked him. They would have, had I not gotten to him first. I never leave him unattended but cats are quick. He is older, very accustomed to me and loves me. I dont think he would be in any more danger because Im planning on spending a few hours out of the day with him in my bedroom with the door shut. However, that will become increasingly difficult as I am pregnant and due in April. After the baby is born, I will be very busy. For his happiness, Ive considered finding him a new home. Ive had him for almost two years and I love him very much. If something were to happen, I would never forgive myself. Please be gentle with your advice, I know its dumb to have my bird with two cats. What would you do? Can I train the cats to chill out? They are young. Kittens. Even the thought of saying goodbye to my little man destroys me, but I would much rather him be safe and happy then surrounded by curious cats and having to stay in his cage. Some encouragement or maybe comfort would be nice, but there isnt much of that when you have a small bird in a one bedroom apartment with two kittens.
