I have a question for the Poodle Skirt Sock Hop gals on here. To the best of your recollections, was your poodle skirt made from felt or of a woven fabric? Also, were the skirts pretty much white, black or gray with neutral contrasting poodles or colorful poodles or were the skirts in what ever color you could talk your parents into buying & the poodles in neutrals? Did you typically wear white tennis shoes (Keds...) or did you wear saddle oxfords? if oxfords, black & white or did you have access to the colorful styles we see around these days like pink & white, tan & white, etc? Boys - what about you? What did you you typically wear to the Sock Hops? Tacked Jeans? White T-Shirts with rolled up sleeves? Did you wear belts with your jeans / slacks? Shoes of choice? Finally, songs & dances - What have you got for me? Pictures would be fantastic if anyone has any from the poodle skirt era! Thanks, everyone!
