I have a specific design/production question: In my current game, I am using regular playing cards to represent the location of the various heroes/monsters in an arena. The layout of the board is a hexagonal layout, but each hex is the size and shape of a playing card. (So rectangles rather than hexagons) My issue is that because the playing cards are so big, the board is rather large. Right now its 20 x 30. (Theyre in a hexagon-like shape, with diameter of seven boxes) See attached jpg for a better view of what I mean. My question is this: whats production of such a board look like? Right now Im using 6 10x10 mats, but they feel flimsy, and I dont think thats what I should use in the end. I dont want something too expensive because thats going to drive up cost. Does anyone have an idea of cost for a board like this, or is there a better alternative? (cloth?!?) Or should i just scrap it and use a regular size board and simple tokens?
