I have a spinal stimulator that tricks my brain into believing there is no horrendous nerve pain running down my left leg and wrapping around my ankle.I needed this machine which costs more than a moderate house because of 3 failed back surgeries that caused the nerve pain. The battery in the stimulator lasts about 8 or 9 years and my battery needed to be replaced for about 6 months. I just got through all the insurance hurdles and got a new battery on Tuesday. It was a very long day and I received a very large incision in my bottom where the the stimulator lives.I have wires that go along my spine, as well but they did not have to be replaced, this time. I have had two very long days since, waking up every two hours in pain from the incision and difficulty getting a comfortable position to enable me to sleep. The machine is quite a miracle when it works for a person, with it on now, I do not feel any of the nerve pain in my leg. I have horrible pain in my back that I will have for the rest of my life, but the nerve pain is controlled by the stimulator. In a few days my incision will be healed and I will feel better than I have in months.It is too bad that back surgeries are not more successful., but Thank God for the spinal stimulator which helps me so so much..
