I have a tradition that I bet no one else in the world partakes in. - the Chipmonks Christmas Song Yes,that much beloved 60s caterwauling ditty that proves that even rodents can belt out a hit once in a while. I have it on an old reel-to-reel, and through years of careful experimentation, I found that 55% speed is just right. Right for what? You may ask. {{{you read my posts from time to time, you know this is gonna get weird.}}} But you wouldnt like me any other way. By playing it at 55%, Alvin, Simon And Theodores squeaky, annoying voices.... those nails-on-a-blackboard vocals that we somehow collectively put up with every year During this season.... Is transformed suddenly into a guttural, growling, demonically-infused, cacophony of Imported-from-the-bowels-of-hell sound that really says Yuletide. I had a verbal agreement with a program director at one of the stations I worked at that I could only play this rendition after midnight. The other stations I worked at? No such contract existed. -but that doesnt mean it wasnt played on them Bwuhahahahaha Comedian Patton Oswalt did a skit on this.....many years after I did it. Maybe he stole the idea. I should sue.
