I have a very happy girl on my hands right now. Why is she so - TopicsExpress

I have a very happy girl on my hands right now. Why is she so happy on chemo day you might ask? Well, that is because she got to come home early without getting her infusion. Her white cell count was a little low so the vet feels more comfortable waiting until Wednesday to administer the next dose. He said its not a big surprise nor is it a huge problem that she had this reaction to the last chemo. Last week she was given a drug called Cytoxin. Right before transplant she received a very high dose of this drug (also followed by low white cell count which was to be expected) so he said that basically her body is remembering this and that even though this dose was lower, she is reacting in the same way. This wont change anything and we will continue on as planned. All of her other bloodwork looked good and physical exam showed that her lymph nodes are back to a normal size!
