I have a very hard situation. Ive spent months agonizing over this decision & after many sleepless nights I have finally came to the conclusion I have to rehome my 5 year old purebred American Bulldog. He is very much like one of my children and a big part of our family but due to recent events of him trying to nip at and show aggression towards my grandchildren who are under 2 years of age I have no choice but to try and rehome him as a last resort before possibly having to euthanize him. I have listed this on seven different pages and sadly was met with so much negativity it was disheartening Im not someone who just has decided I do not want my animal anymore its not like someone who has an animal and moves or just decides its not what they want to take care of any more I am NOT a person who just text the ownership of an animal lightly I do not want to rehome him but have no other choice right now he is a very loving animal but does not do well around small children and other animals and I would love to see him go to a home where someone didnt have children around or other animals and had the time and patience and love to put into him that he deserves. We have tried many avenues to try to correct the behavior but the bottom line comes to be even as much as I love him and even if I want to keep him he has tried to bite a child under 2 years old and I will not put any animal over the safety of my grandchildren or any child for that matter I do believe because he wasnt raised around small children he just isnt sure how to act with my health issues and everything else I dont have the time to run every specialist there is to try to fix the behavior he is not neutered and so many people have given me flack for not having him neutered but the truth of the matter is I have actually been told it could possibly help his behavior but on the flipside theres a small chance that it could make the behavior he is protraying worse and thats not a chance I was willing to take. He can be very loving and I would love to see him go to someone that has the time energy to spend with him maybe even have him go to a police officer or a fireman as a canine companion. The bottom line is no matter is how much I want to keep him I cant and its not like Im just surrendering him I will be very very picky of who I rehome him too. There will be a rehoming fee and I will need vet references, personal references and other information it will have to be on a 30 day trial basis to be sure the fit is not only good for the family who adopts him but for him as well I will also have to have you meet him a minimum of twice before I will let him possibly be rehomed to you. I will not allow him to be rehomed to anyone that has young children or small pets but if you are interested please let me know like I said earlier I have got so many negative comments on other pages and so many people trying to offer advice both positive and negative I just want this to be a positive experience and do what is the best interest of my bully boy because he is so much like my child so thank you for your interest in advance..I live in auburn
