I have a work question that someone asked me to post. If someone in your company, who has worked there for 7 years, is a normally productive member of the team, seems to be going off the rails due to the long lingering death of her twin brother. What as the head of the company would be the proper recourse. Should you ignore the basic problem and never address the impending death or take the tough love route and be mean to her when she screws up so it doesnt look like you are babying her, or take her aside and get her to open up, and to see what as a company could be done to make her life a bit less stressful. Or is not the responsibility of the company to be concerned for the long term employees personal life. Im talking about an office with 25 people.
