I have admired and studied the wonderful works of Aristotle for many years - but he made a statement (within his teachings) that I must unequivocally disagree with. He often spoke of slavery as a natural occurrence thus ingrained into human nature itself; at that time many (including himself) felt that there were people born with an inherent slavish nature. If I may be so bold, I must (with all my heart) disagree with him on this subject! I believe that theres no inherent unchangeable human natures what-so-ever; except (of course) the basic physical need for food, water, oxygen and (with some) procreation; these human needs are inescapably required for life itself; also I must include psychological needs such as: expression, satisfaction, and companionship. To be fair to the great Aristotle the need to be a leader or follower (not to be confused with slavery) are also an integral part of the human composition, which was the nucleus (I think) for his statement within the writings I speak of. A positive or negative thought can be implemented into either one of these needs (leader or follower) mentioned. Let us not confuse a choice with a need; so therefore the myth of inherent (inbred) slavish nature is completely false. We are (in fact) the most adaptable of all creatures on earth thus making our environment the most-likely cause of these mindsets; eliminating any DNA connections completely. – Johnny Luckett
