I was diagnosed when my son was a baby and my daughter was in middle school when my husband was serving his second tour in Iraq. I was told that I had 65 percent chance of living 5 years. I am celebrating this milestone by running on the Cancer Research Insitute (CRI) team in the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) this October 26. I chose the MCM and the CRI team because there are two things that Im passionate about, veterans and fighting cancer in the right places. Nothing else has worked for everyone to date to cure this horrible disease that has attacked and killed so many of my friends, but I believe immnology can if the research is funded.
