I have always been one to withhold my judgment on any presidential legacy until at least 3/4 through his presidency, and since were pretty much at that point with Obama I am for the most part impressed with his presidential composer and disposition in the face of extreme hostility. I find that most people really dont understand the complexities and subtleties of politics. Everything is connected, either directly or indirectly to everything else. Decisions are not made in a vacuum. Everything must be considered, even things that do not seem related. Chess is an excellent metaphor for politics and what I hear from most people sounds like the ramblings of a novice. Every move requires assessing potential of the entire board. And Obama strikes me as the calm and thoughtful thinker who is thinking several steps ahead of his opponents and is not to be criticized for elements beyond his authority and control. He has been a fine president overall in my estimation.
