I have always had a World War II mindset. Until I celebrated my quarter-century, most of my close friends were my parents age and older. One of my closest friends was a survivor of the ARIZONA. (The downside of that is that almost all of my old-timey friends are dead ...) I have always thought that the only wise thing to do in a war (call it by whatever name you will) is to fight with all your strength, win as soon as possible, make the enemy sign an unconditional surrender, and come back home. While the fighting is going on, support the troops -- theirs is any honor to be found. If you disagree with the war, give the politicians Hell -- theirs is any blame to be found. I think two of the factors that contributed in their own way to victory in World War II were the music and our barbed sense of humor toward the enemy. Here is an excellent example of the latter: https://youtube/watch?v=T4tDTe9sOdU
