I have always had a sneaky feeling that faith healing is staged. If you could google “Derren Brown Miracles for Sale”, he will show you how some, if not all, faith healers do their tricks. The worst part of it is that faith healers pray on the genuine faith that people have for their religion and God, then tell them to throw their medicines away while they make lots of money in the process. Just over the weekend I happened to be watching Pastor T.B Jashua, for the first time, very popular Nigerian faith healer of the church SCOAN (Synagogue Church Of All Nations). I understand he is on Emmanuel TV. He is very impressive and he is followed by so many people in Africa and abroad. I watched do his miracles and have my doubts. I just hope it’s not one of those stories that go up like hot air! So many people have told me about him, but being the sceptic that I am, I just hope… I often wonder how God chooses people that should have the powers to heal others, and I am like, how lucky are that you have been chosen by God to heal other people! Amazingly, most faith healers have a history of having dropped out of school or a similar sort of history. I know pastor Chris is very smart and very educated but believe me, faith healing can be dangerous and people die because they are told to throw away their medicines. Tough world we are living in.
