I have always had issues with clothes drying maidens. I need them in my life like youll never know, the thing is, I am now on my fourth one in 9 years. Living in a flat, and elevated up one level, I dont have the access to the garden like the people that live below me. I sometimes sit on my window sill, tears slowly rolling down my cheeks, watching them chatting, discussing and swapping pegs, and hanging their clothes in the slight breeze as they chat and smile. I soon pick my spirits up though and look at my clothes drying maiden and tell myself that at least I have that. In the past I have had plastic ones, and one made from a light chrome material. They all perished under relatively light weight, which caused me major distress. My current wooden one has lasted for a while, but it leans to one side and makes me wonder if it is going to collapse. This sometimes keeps me awake at night, neighbours have expressed their concern after hearing me crying through the paper thin walls. But, do you know what!? I am strong, and I will get through it. I try to position the maiden in a part of the room so it doesnt look as though its leaning, this helps tremendously. A neighbour suggested that I get an Iron Maiden, but after googling it, it appears to be some type of music cult, which is far too outrageous for me.
