I have always had my doubts about the TWA 800 case. When some 200 eye-witnesses say they saw something streak skyward and explode near the plane, you would think that would be addressed as a serious question. But, no. All of the eye-witnesses were dismissed as having experienced some sort of imaginary event, or believing they saw something that wasnt there. I didnt know there was a new documentary about the case. I watched it today. It was released last year. It is very well done. If you watch it, you will come away fully believing, as I have believed for many years, that the government covered up something terrible. Possibly an accidental shoot-down by our own nations navy. Possibly a terrorist attack. Why would they cover up a possible terrorist attack involving surface to air missiles? Good question. Why would they repeatedly deny that the Taliban and al Qaeda had shoulder-fired, surface to air missiles in their possession when at least two helicopters are suspected of being downed by them in Afghanistan? Because it would directly impact operations by both military and civilian aviation groups. Its better to say it didnt happen than to have airlines refusing to fly without protections against such threats. flight800doc/
