I have always known that Obamas deposition towards Nigeria as a nation has always been negative, since assumption of office. The reason for this is not immediately discernible. But all I can conveniently say is that he may have issues to grind with this great country that was once regarded as their true partners in this side of the Sahara. If you ask President Clinton and Bush they will confirm this. Where did we get it wrong? Only Obama can tell. Why I feel pained is that Obama will always use every international platform on African affairs to lampoon Nigeria as if we are his private colony. All the African tours he embarked on, the nation was not even considered. Coupled with the fact that the recent request for the ebola serum to treat our patients was out-rightly and undiplomatically denied as if we are a pariah nation, while Liberia an ex colony was given over a thousand doses. Where lies equity? To add insult on injury, they abandoned patronage of Nigeria oil import, all in order to squeeze our economy. The recent diplomatic blitz embarked upon by the American Ambassador of late was just designed to cover up their blunder. This certainly is not how to treat a friend who you will always need if not now but in future because gone are the era of gunboat diplomacy.
