I have always, since I was born, had long hair which I usually wore braided, earning me the nickname as a kid Pocahontas, which I loved--no disrespect at all intended!! I was always so emanated of North American Indian culture and so drawn to the stories, myths and customs of these wise and wonderful beings who had walked these lands before they were contaminated by Western man and his greed and inability to sense the spiritual and connectedness of every living being. I studied these cultures and the cultures of the central and South Americans with avid interest. Eventually I bumped into Tibetan Buddhism and it resonated with my heart. So then I was drawn to meditation, to yoga, to aryuveda. However this always remained in my heart that I have a deep connection to the native people of all lands and of course deeply with the land I call home today. I love that our hair holds our power and that the natives of our beautiful homeland knew and grew their hair to cultivate the wisdom that filters and whispers through your spiritual antennae.
