I have always supported a cultural exchange between Palestinians within Israel as well as Jewish Israelis and the wider Arab World. This, I argue (and will do so more extensively in a future post), is the best way to fight the Zionist occupation which feeds on Paranoia and Fear-mongering. It will also help the wider Arab world connect with Palestinian and Jewish Israelis living within Israels borders who are essentially condemned for being born in the wrong place at the wrong time. Our attitude is idiotic, pointless and serves absolutely no one except those already in power as well as the crazy fundamentalists. Im already happy that Israeli books and movies, which are often a product of Jewish-Palestinian could be found in selected locations in Lebanon. I can buy the books of Ilan Pappe, Shlomo Sand, Amos Oz, Gideon Levy and many others from a random bookstore in Hamra, Beirut. This is definitely an improvement from a few years ago. Ill prepare a piece advocating for even more inter-cultural exchange.
