I have always wanted to see a movie with Cillian Murphy in the lead role and this was it. Have to say, he didnt disappoint me one bit. If you have already watched I Am Legend, you might find this movie a bit boring (thanks to the strikingly similar plot - 28 Days Later came 5 years before I Am Legend, though), but when Christoper Ecclestons character comes in, this movie becomes better than I Am Legend. This movie teaches us what most of us probably already know; that the biggest plague of this world are us Humans ourselves. Quoting The Joker, when the chips are down, these civilised people will eat each other. This movie portrays exactly that. For we Human Beings - most of us - are so weak and pathetic that we are slaves to our habits when it should be the opposite as we claim to be Gods greatest creation. But all is not lost as some people - a very rare breed - conquer their acts and swim against the tide to save others from being drowned. Cillian Murphys character is somewhat like that. Ecclestons character was so cold-blooded and mean that it made me wish for an apocalypse to happen - he truly depicted everything what is wrong with us men. Apart from some plot-holes - rather, some unexplained issues - this is a great apocalypse movie. Sends us a good message and an entertaining movie as well. I give it an 8/10.
