I have an 18 yr old son and I see this so much when he wants to do stuff with his friends...many say they are busy, but yet have time to text constantly. Though...his phone is with him at all times too. LOL I am scared of the generation growing up as they know by the age of 2 how to work their parents phone to play a game. WHAT happened to actually entertaining your child YOURSELF?!?! You know..like read a book to them, sing, do a finger song, color, playdoh, etc. Now, dont get me wrong..movies were a Godsend to me when I was dog tired from being up most of the night with a newborn, but I also made time to spend with my 2 yr old. TV time was limited and you sure didnt see either of my kids playing with a phone....granted I didnt get a phone until my son was 5 and even then...you couldnt do much on it...not even texting. I kept that phone for 8 yrs. My kids didnt miss anything. I made both of my children wait until they were 16 to get a phone when they got their DL. Even then, my daughter never used her phone much as she is still using a prepaid phone...she doesnt text much. Now my son has fallen into this nasty path of texting constantly...up to midnight some nights thanks to friends who apparently need less sleep than he does or I do since I can hear his ducks quaking on his phone. Though he has also found out that he has a TON of the same interests as his father and they are doing more together (which of course melts my heart). Did I tell you he is 18 !?! So, even though technology is in my sons life, he does put it down and hangs out with his dad and his friends when everyones work schedule allows it. PLEASE, put down the phone. Get off Facebook (of course, check out Creative Couponing first). Spend some time with family, friends or just get out of the house with your 4 legged friend. :) https://youtube/watch?v=dRl8EIhrQjQ
