I have an American friend, who is a researcher. She expects to come to Tanzania in a near future with MA students in Anthropology under her supervision to undertake a study in Zanzibar. Firstly, she is looking for potentially two (2) research assistants, with the following qualities: (a) Young women with a bachelors in anthropology, with ambitions to move forward in the field; (b) Current students, or recent graduates can be considered; (c) Mastery of Kiswahili and English, who can help in translation/ interpretation in both languages; (d) Is not opposed to going to stay in the village; and (e) Familiar with Zanzibar norms (familiarity with Jambiani community is advantageous). Secondly, she is looking for any other experts (any gender) in Anthropology, it could be a Professor at universities or someone working elsewhere but is experienced, and have interest, to work with her.
