I have an abundant respect and love for Maya Angelou and, like many others, Id like to use this platform to celebrate her life and mourn her passing. That being said, its a shame that oftentimes we dont voice our love/appreciation for our worlds most luminous people until they have passed. I wouldnt want to reduce my appreciation and love for friends, family, and local heroes to simply writing their name on a list when I can personally let them know how much they mean to me.
