I have an announcement to make. Before I begin, I just wanna say how much I hate Facebook. I see people post the details of their private lives on here all the time, and I tend to roll my eyes at them. I know, I know! Its 2014. Its the age of social media. Im a cranky, old codger who needs to get with the times. And sadly, this is the best way to let everyone know at once what is going on without causing a stir of rumor and speculation. I can just post the truth and, hopefully, ease some of that chaos. So, (ahem)... nows when I swallow my pride, eat my words, and post the details of my private life... After many months of consideration, Hope Albin-Dykes and I have decided to no longer be in a relationship together. Weve known for sometime, but waited until now to make the announcement. We made the best of it we could, but to continue on any longer would have just created more frustration, bitterness, and sadness. We do not want Jameson to be around that in his life. He deserves better, and so do we. Hope and I, though split in some ways, are still attached in many others. First and foremost is the son we share. We want him to be raised with both of us in his life. Each one of us will take equal responsibility for him and come together when deciding whats best for him. Second, Hope is one of my best friends. I still talk to her openly, and we spend time with each other. She is a part of my family. I dont expect that to change anytime soon. For those of you who are going to worry about me, -DONT! I am not overwhelmed with sadness or heartbroken beyond repair. This has been coming for sometime, and I am grateful that it came without bloodshed or war. Im exaggerating a bit, but it is a relief to have come to this decision without causing any more harm to those I care about. Others may not see it that way. For that, I am sorry. Even though I make it appear that all is well, I still appreciate the love and support of all my friends and family. Hope and Jameson do so as well. Thats it. You can all go back to reading your funny memes and watching your ice bucket challenge videos.
