I have an extremely vivid memory about something that was said to me at fourteen years old... id like to share it with you.....after church one evening, a woman approached me. she was probably in her early thirties. she said, my husband and i were talking about you and your sisters. my husband said you were very sweet and liked you best.she didnt give me time to respond. the next thing she said? i told my husband no. this sister (she said the name) is the best! even the prettiest! after those words came out of her mouth, i went numb. i dont remember any thing else she said after that. her lips were moving, but i was paralysed... with hurt.. rejection.. and a broken heart... so? did i end up forgiving her? yep... i sure did... but... it took a long, long, time... there were many more rejections in my life that came before and after...but...how can god get glory out of something like this? well, as much as i embrace my blessings, i embrace all the rejections ... why? because i wouldnt be as strong and resistant in this race im running today... paul says it best in scripture-i will break down- press toward the prize.. my father has never rejected me... and he never will!!!
