I have an issue that is bothering me, so can someone please help and explain this. In Ferguson, MO you have a population of over 15,000 blacks and about 4,000 whites. However, the police force doesnt have enough black officers that adequately represents the population. When you look at the mayors office and the city council. There is only one black person. The prosecutor that is suppose to look at the case involving the shooting of Micheal Brown was recently reelected and bet out the black candidate that ran against him. During the election about 20-30% of blacks actually showed up to vote. But now all of a sudden you dont trust the prosecutor and you want a special prosecutor to look at the case. Where was all this activism during the election? I said it before and I will say it again. Your mayor and city council control the Police department. I dont care if you have a police force full of Klansmen. If you control the city council you can get rid of the police chief, all the officers, and effect the departments funding. So I am saying all that to ask this. Is this really the white mans fault, or as black people did we become lazy? Are we really living up to the legacy of Dr. King, Malcolm X, and the rests of those that fought in the civil rights movement? As sad as Micheal Browns death is. I think it is insignificant in the long run when you look at how we as black people have regressed as a culture. Or again are we still to focused on worshiping President Obama as if he is the second coming of Christ and to busy listening so called conscious people speaking poetry at some spoken word event, instead of doing something simple like voting. You know the right that so many of our ancestors fought and died for. I cant blame anyone for this laziness and stupidity, but ourselves. So to my fellow black people please explain what Im missing and a solution to this problem.
