I have an issue that needs resolved and I need your suggestions. As you may or may not no, I , a man, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2003. My mother had breast cancer. This puts my kids, especially my daughter into a VERY HIGH RISK pool. I had a mammogram done about a week ago which was routine and came back normal.. but the radiologist who did it told me that my daughter needs to have a mammogram done even though shes only 27. Because Im a man, that puts her in a risk area of 50/50 chance shell get it. As we all know, caught early.. very curable. Heres the problem. My daughter called the health department to schedule a mammogram. They cant do it without a doctors order. She called her doctor and her doctor says she doesnt care how high risk she is, she wont order the exam unless my daughter has detected a lump. Am I wrong... or is this freakn ridiculous! With todays technology, they can detect even the SMALLEST spots. Does anyone know a doctor that will order this for Amanda? Is there a doctor here on Facebook that can help?
