I have an old friend thats a policeman, and whose name for the purpose of this post, shall remain unstated. In any case, in speaking with this cop friend of mine recently, he said something very compelling to me. Lord knows Ive had more interactions with the police than any non-criminal should have, and a large number of those interactions have been anything but pleasant, or indeed fair. So I was asking my cop friend... why is it that cops so often find it ok to violate my civil rights. His reply... I suppose there are many reasons, most of which are unjust, but in my (meaning his) case.... Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Whooo-ah, thats heavy.... and it was then that I realized that I suppose if I myself had a job that often put me in situations where I had life or death decisions to make... I too may become capable of being less concerned with their civil rights and more concerned with my own self preservation,
