I have an update for you all on what happened to our beloved boy. As you know Colin battled with his diabetes for many years, he was diagnosed at thirteen and not something that a young teenager was very keen on managing. At the beginning he refused to take any medication at all but through the love and care from his parents he was persuaded to take care of himself and managed his illness through daily injections. Colin loved life, he loved to live it to the full and enjoy it - thats why he gave so much to us all and thats why he squeezed so much in. Over the years, he developed heart failure and high blood pressure - not many people, even those who were close to Colin knew about his health complications because he was such a private person and didnt complain (much). Years of living the lifestyle that he chose took its toll on his body until he finally went to sleep on the 18th August 2014 and didnt wake up. I can now confirm to you all that Colin died of heart failure due to prolonged and sustained high blood pressure. He did not have a traumatic heart attack or major stroke, his irregular heart beat was just tired of working so hard to counter-act his high blood pressure and it just stopped beating. He felt no pain and simply just went to sleep. So now we have a little bit more closure and can hopefully start to rebuild our lives. Live them to the full, be happy, do not let opportunities pass you by, do not be frightened to tell those that you love what they mean to you because in the words of Mr Riot himself - were here for a good time, not a long time - but we can all stand strong in the faith that we will meet again someday xxx
