I have an urgent need I wanted to share with you my friends and fellow Christians. We have found out about a single mother (of a 4 year old boy and a newborn baby) that was in a car accident about a year ago. Due to this accident 2 of her vertebras were damaged causing her to be unable to walk. She is wheelchair bound with her hands curled in and not capable of being used. She has been borrowing chairs or whatever she could to manage to get around. The chair she is currently using has to be returned tonight. In addition to this issue, she had to have a c-section with the newborn a month ago and during the c-section the doctor cut open her bladder so she now has a bag that she has to use for her urine. Her husband left her when she was a few months pregnant and is currently filing for divorce. She has sold most everything they own to provide for the children but recently they have had to go several days without food. When I asked her what her greatest need is she responded "To find work so that I can support my children". You need to know that this is NOT a common response. Normally they will come back with Food, clothes, money or other material items. Even though she is disabled, she is still willing to work in any way she can. The baby, as you can see from the pictures, is VERY malnourished and underweight and looks to be jaundiced. We will be taking him to the doctor later today with hopes that we can help him ASAP.
