Let me try that again: Body Tribal 2014 WE ARE ALL MARKED Some marks are on the inside Some marks are on the outside Some marks are chosen Some are forced upon us And some marks are accidental: when we think we want one thing and get another, that is exactly what we wanted, only we didnt know to ask for it. These marks tell the story of who we are, where weve been and where were going. Inner marks tell stories of love and hate, of harmony and conflict Outer marks are reminders of our experiences: they tell stories of triumph and travail. All of them tell of lessons learned. We have each worn our marks for years, or even for our entire lifetime, but some have yet to be realized. Until that happens, many of us are unable to move on. WE NEED A RITE OF PASSAGE Western culture often looks down upon those ceremonial practices that serve as benchmarks--as rites of passage--in our lives. The traditions of tribal cultures are viewed as barbaric and primitive, and our Western culture demands that we rise above the primitive. How can we find our path when our eyes are dazzled by the brilliant light of civilizations influence?? WELCOME TO THE BODY TRIBAL Body Tribal is not just about outer marks like tattooing and piercing. It is also about inner marks, the ones that send us careening away from our paths, those that jolt us back onto the path and those that take us to the crossroads so that we can more clearly choose our way. It is about the marks left by life and death, sorrow and joy. It is about recognizing and celebrating our inner marks, whatever they may be. Join us as we abandon the complexities of Western civilization and become one Tribe. Turn with as one Tribe, to the Elements--the most basic influences of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water--for initiation so that we may find clarity and direction, and so recognize and realize our marks. It will be up to you to determine whether or not your marks will be physical, like paint or tattoo or piercing, of if yours are inner marks, leaving you to lend support lend support to others if you need a visible mark.
