I have argued here that the Yoruba race is not the most educated - TopicsExpress

I have argued here that the Yoruba race is not the most educated race in Nigeria. Here is another claim to buttress my assertion and the more reason we must avoid the return of the Gambari in 2015 and if we are truly the most educated, it is time we use our education to right these wrongs: Kwara state does not mean Ilorin. Ilorin is just its capital town. Other major towns in the state are Jebba, Offa, Omu-Aran and Lafiagi. Festivals observed in the state are Oro, Ogun and Awon. The Kwara Cities: 1. Jebba is a Yoruba city in Kwara State. It has incredibly beautiful views of the River Niger and as of 2007 had an estimated population of 22,411. The City was split into North and South Jebba by the Gambari to further Balkanized the Yorubaland. South Jebba falling in Kwara State and North in Niger State. It is home to the largest Nigeria’s, three Hydro Electric Damns, powering the whole of Nigeria, every day, without getting necessary revenue for same. The First Oba of Jebba was Oba Adebola Adebara who ruled for 4 years (1807-1901), 2nd Oba was Oba Odaso Adebara (1901-1930), 3rd Oba was Oba Muhammad Ayoola Adebara (1931-1943), 4th Oba was Oba (Alh) Ahmadu Akanbi Adebara who ruled for 60 years (1943-2003) on the throne, while the 5th Oba, Oba (Alh) Abdulkadir Alabi Adebara (2003-date) is the present and only ruler/king in Jebba town It is completely unacceptable for this Yoruba City to be grouped with the Gambari’s North. That Gambari intentionally divided the town into partly Kwara and partly Niger states respectively was part of the continuation of the British colonial thugs’ mentality of Balkanization of the Yoruba nation into partly Nigeria, partly Benin Republic and partly Togo. 2. Offa is a Yoruba city in Kwara State, with a population of about 90,000 inhabitants. Offa was first settled around AD 1000 by Yoruba. The Offatedo of Osun state, Iyana Offa in Oyo State, Offa in Cote devoire, are all emanated from Offa. The present king is the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II. The prominent knighted chiefs of Offa include Esa, Ojomu, Sawo and Balogun. The praise name of Offa is "Ijakadi Loro Offa", a Yoruba phrase meaning "wrestling is our game". It is completely unacceptable for this Yoruba City to be grouped with the Gambari’s North. 3. Omu-Aran is the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government, one of the 16 local government areas in Kwara State. Prior to that, it had been the headquarters of the defunct Igbomina/Ekiti Division, comprising both Kwara Igbomina of the Igbomina people who live in Kwara State and the North Eastern part of the Yoruba country. His Royal Majesty, Oba Charles Oladele Ibitoye is the current Olomu of Omu-Aran. Again, that this Yoruba City is part of the Gambari’s North shame the acclaimed disposition that the Yoruba race is the most educated in Nigeria. 4. Lafiagi is a Nupe City intentionally grouped as part of Kwara state by the Gambari to destabilized the state while at the same time divided Jebba, a Yoruba City into two with the Northern part forming part of Niger state while the Southern part grouped as part of Kwara state. Divide and Rule of the Gambari. 5. Ilorin is one of the largest cities in Nigeria and is the capital of Kwara State. As of 2007 it had a population of 847,582. Ilorin was founded by the Yoruba, in 1250. It became a provincial military headquarters of the ancient Oyo Empire, it later become a Northern Nigeria protectorate when the British colonial thugs took control of Yorubaland and later amalgamated same with our African neighbours and called it Nigeria. Yes, Kwara state should never have been part of Northern Nigeria but it has been because the Gambari had held political power for 50 years with the sole purpose of enslaving the rest of the country, particularly the Yoruba race. Now that they have lost the power, it is time we use our education to bring into one autonomous region all Yoruba cities, towns and counties for growth and development of the Yoruba race. It is the same reason the Yoruba Youth must ensure a Gambari never gets to be president of Nigeria in 2015 or after unless Nigeria returns back to #TrueFederalism with all the Yoruba speaking cities, towns and counties under One Yoruba Autonomous Region. If we cannot achieve this simple reality of bringing all Yoruba speaking states under One Yoruba Autonomous Region, it is better we respect the minorities ethnic nations like the Ijaw under whose son President Jonathan is currently leading the contraption called Nigeria. It will also be reasonable we handover Lagos to the Igbo since their form of aggressive nationalism is to take over Yorubaland. As long as we are unable to have all Yoruba speaking states under One Region, we remain not the most educated race but the most mis-educated race in Nigeria
