I have been a fan of Robin Williams for many years. I loved watching his comedy routines; especially when he was on stage all by himself. But I liked seeing himself as himself - not on a comedy routine - in a casual situation. San Diego North County has (and is) home to many celebrities who wish to escape the limelight and so the population tends to be casual and respectful. One of the Golden Girls lived here, several rock stars, many movie and TV stars, and more. Robin Williams lived here part time for a number of years, especially when he was doing a lot of bicycling. He was often seen at local stores or the beach but most often with other bike riders. One day I pulled up to a stop light and a group of bikes pulled up next to me in the turn lane. I looked over and the closest rider was Robin Williams. I was so proud of myself that I simply nodded and said, Hey. Robin nodded back and said, Hey, back. I was so thrilled! Smile.....It takes so little sometimes. I am sorry he has left this world but Im sure hes happy now and free of the demons that tormented him. RIP Robin.
